Change The Oil On A Dodge Sprinter. Changing the oil on your Dodge Sprinter is easier than you might think. Just follow the directions below and you shouldn’t run into any problems. Directions for changing oil : • Drain the oil via the drain plug. • Loosen and remove the oil filter cap. • Pull off the old oil filter • Remove the three O-rings from plastic filter mounting spike. • Replace the O-rings with the new ones that came in the new filter kit. • Slide the new filter onto the mounting spike. • Reinstall the oil drain plug • Reinstall and hand tighten the oil filter cap. – DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN • Refill the crankcase with 9.5 quarts of approved oil. • Reinstall the oil filler cap. • Start the engine to check for leaks.
